Music In The House 8.11.2011

The annual fundraiser for Support Act honoured Russell Morris as Music Person of the Year at a glittering lunch in the NSW Parliament House, hosted by the Hon Nathan Rees. In the audience to celebrate with Russ were his music friends, Ray, Steve Kilby, Brian Cadd, Glenn Shorrock. Wendy Matthews, Dinah Lee, Marty Rhone, Russ and Graham Wilson. A full house saw a great live performance by Russell and Brian and raised some much needed funds for SAL. Check the website www.supportact.com.au

Ray meets up with The Church's Steve Kilby, at a wonderful night of music in a tribute to singer/songwriter Margot Smith. Money raised at the event was donated to Support Act in Margot's memory.

Great celebration to unveil a memorial to Ted Mulry on the 10th anniversary of his passing. It's at the Leppington Lawn Cemetery for all to enjoy. The event was oganised by Steve and Lenore Mulry and attended by Teds mates and fans. In the photo are, Steve, Herm Kovac, Glenn A Baker, Warren Morgan, Angry Anderson, Ray and JPY. Donations were made in Ted's memory to Support Act.

The Rock & Roll Cruise on the Volendam with Marcie Jones, Ray, & Normie Rowe & The Playboys. What a fantastic trip. From left Steve Kelson, Marcie, Bill Billings (sorry Bill just the top of your noggin) Normie, Graham Trottman, John Golding, Ray and Neil McKenzie. So many songs and so many laughs.

Ray rocking it up on New Years Eve in Sydney with The Robertson Brothers Band at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club. Big night,  Ray sang his hits and some old rockers as well!
   



Golden Guitar winner Steve Passfield, Stephanie McCamley from St George Community Services and Ray at the Xmas volunteers lunch. Steve entertained the group with Xmas songs and his great original material and was joined by Ray for White Christmas and some rock classics including GLORIA!

November 11th 2008 - Catching up with old mates at the Debonairs luncheon in Sydney Caught Hi-5's new arena show in Perth at the Superdome. It's a great energetic production and the kids just went nuts.
October 29th 2008 - Finaly caught up with my old guitar playing mate from Redtime after 36 years. Chris O'Leary has been living and making music in Perth Well what a night! A great time had by all, with the bravery award going to Marty after he gashed his head during his opening number, got patched up,came back and finished the set. A real trouper! Ray with Donnie, Marty, Swanee, Paul Burton and the Brewster Brothers.

It was a great night and to share the stage with some Rock & Roll legends as well as Casey was a dream come true.

A very sad day for us all with the passing of the great Smokey Dawson. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed. Ray toured with Smokey in the 90's and was invited by Smokey to sing a duet on the "Smokey Dawson and Friends" CD. Here is Jimmy Little, Ray and Smoky in full voice.
Casey at the Balmain Festival The show on Sat 26/5/07 was great. I included Sad R&R and GLORIA in the set and Casey did a couple of new songs.
